Formed while the members were still in 8th grade, ACM may not have the advantage of actual age, but their five-plus years of experience as a band has transformed them from a collection of four students churning out cover songs at friends’ birthday parties to a solid outfit that makes music with conscious intent and practice.
A Cursive Memory got its start when Colin Baylen and Shaun Profeta met at a birthday party. Shaun is the brother of Hellogoodbye drummer Chris Profeta. Mark Borst-Smith and Brian Bolen soon joined, forming a band originally called The Vagrants.

It's completely, totally and (to most people) irritatingly inescapable. From the pre-dawn early-bird sales on Black Friday to the last-minute panic attacks at the mall on Christmas Eve, it's the sonic backdrop for the season. In shopping malls, in the grocery store, in the free clinic, while you're on hold talking with your bank. It's everywhere, and we're just going to have to deal with it for a few more weeks.Since Dustin Kensrue was behind that "Boy, the world could really use more alchemy-themed concept albums," decision that's dominated the output of his full-time band, Thrice, maybe we shouldn't be too surprised in his latest lack of judgment. At least he's not cutting four inter-related EPs in tribute to Frosty, Santa, Rudolph and Charlie Brown's pathetic Christmas tree.Holiday music is everywhere this time of year, and Kensrue's just adding to the avalanche of stuff you probably don't want to hear -- he's rehashing the same old carols with the same old ideals. There are enough original holiday albums (see I'll Stay 'Till After Christmas or any of Parasol Records' Christmas Singles volumes for proof) that there's no reason to try to cram Kensrue into your stocking this year
